Welcome to the jolly boatman!

Andy Cannon and the team extend a warm welcome to The Jolly Boatman. A traditional pub set alongside the beautiful Southern Oxford canal.

The Jolly Boatman really is a pub for all seasons. Enjoy a drink at one of our tables next to the towpath and watch the boats go by on long, lazy, sunny summer afternoons. Or in the depths of winter, why not join us for a warming glass of mulled wine by the roaring log fires.

Whatever the season, you can be assured of a warm welcome, a great selection of beers, wines and soft drinks. Along with a menu of homemade, freshly prepared dishes using only the freshest local produce.

You will always find free daily newspapers and magazines and are welcome to use our free Wi-Fi network throughout the pub and gardens. A cash machine is also available. Children, dogs and muddy boots are all most welcome! OUR BRAND NEW CANAL SIDE, COVERED AND HEATED DECKED PATIO AREA IS NOW OPEN. Making The Jolly Boatman the perfect venue for a spot of al fresco dining whatever the weather.

We look forward to seeing you very soon.

THE BARN RESTAURANT

A meal in the barn restaurant is always a special occaision. Warm and cozy in winter with a huge central roaring log fire. Light and airy in summer with patio doors opening directly on to the canal towpath. Tables laid with crystal glasses, fresh flowers and clean white linen napkins perfectly accompany our menu of fresh local food and wines.

THE BAR

Why not enjoy a drink or snack in our bar/lounge area. Free WI-FI, newspapers and magazines are always available along with a quiz machine to provide hours of entertainment. We are open all day every day from 11am -10pm

THE SNUG

Newly refurbished in January 2011. A brand new log stove, new carpets and comfy seating areas make this the perfect place to relax with a drink, snack or meal. A large TV screen is available for sporting events or just to catch up on the news.

CANAL SIDE

In the warmer summer months there is nothing nicer or more relaxing than to sit along side the beautiful Southern Oxford canal and enjoy a drink or a spot of "al fresco" dining at one of our towpath tables whilst watching the boats go by.
